Simply put... This site was originally created as a way for me to store snippets of code I found useful, syntax, examples, tips and snippets, etc... I've also added a few issues and fixes I've found along the way...
Just copy and paste the working example, and change the bits you need to...
Recently the site has become a bit of a playground for ideas, custom modules and themes... However, originally the site was built in straight HTML and CSS, but (around 2010) I used WordPress, and a theme called Arras.
I'm not a WordPress expert, and although I did start to head in that direction, it was only really an exercise to add 'another string to my bow'. The WordPress site was good, but it didn't offer the flexibility and features I wanted, so several years later (end of 2012), I started to question why the site was in WordPress as I could build a much better site in Drupal (where I have more knowledge and experience)...
So, 2013 starts out with the new site, new look, new CMS...
- The CMS was Drupal 7 (although Drupal is actually a CMF Content Managed Framework)
- The theme is a custom theme originally build by myself, but designed by Simon Alison form CoffeeHouse Digital
- I've changed a few colours here and there, but the actual framework, regions and sub regions form the best, most comprehensive theme and set of templates I've built to date.
Some of the content has been created by others, and if I know where I got it from, I'll add credits and links.... Feel free to use and pass on...
May/June 2020 I decided to take a look at Drupal 8/9 and convert the site over. Try the migration, convert templates to TWIG versions, and generally see what would go wrong, and what I would learn.
Take Care and good luck!
